New Son-in-Law Veluchamy

Newly married Veluchamy wanted to go to his Mother-in-Law’s house for “maruvirundu” (Invitation from MIL house after marriage). He did not know how long he had to stay and so asked his mother. She replied “ virundhum marunthum moondru naalu” and you can come back on the 4th day. His wife Selvi said, “by organizing “Maruvirundu”, she wishes to give you her respects and you must come.”

He came and asked his mother again and she replied “When you see your face in the plate, you can come back immediately. He did not understand what she meant and went to his MIL’s house. MIL was very happy to see them. She prepared a Grand Dinner for them. Three days passed by well. On the 4th day, MIL told her SIL, “Sir, I have kept your meals on the plate. Please go & eat while I go to work in the fields.” To his dismay, there was nothing in the plate except ‘Kanji” and his countenance reflected in the plate. Only then did he understand what his mother had told him and he returned home.

I have read the article in a magazine.I dont intend hurting anyone.
